WaMiSAR: Progress in Sustainable Mining Water Management
WaMiSAR continues to advance sustainable water management in mining regions through extensive field campaigns in Namibia. Recent activities included the installation of environmental monitoring systems, soil and water sampling across key sites, and the development of hydrological models to support risk assessment and site management under arid conditions.
WaMiSAR establishes meteorological station and soil moisture sensors at Tsumeb and Rosh Pinah mine residue deposits.
With new monitoring systems now operating at Tsumeb and Rosh Pinah, WaMiSAR has taken an important step toward improving the understanding of mine residue landscapes. Combined with comprehensive field sampling and baseline studies, the campaign strengthens the project’s foundation for developing effective water and soil management solutions in Namibia.
WaMiSAR: Kick-off Conference and Sampling Campaigns in Namibia
The WaMiSAR project has recently completed a productive series of sampling campaigns in Namibia. These field efforts are part of ongoing research to develop sustainable water management solutions for arid and semi-arid regions.
