Co-HYDIM-SA

“Rainy days in the Co-HYDIM study regions in northern Namibia and southern Angola are related to days with easterly winds at SASSCAL weather stations.
This reflects the fact that the moisture source for the rainfall is the Indian Ocean and a large fraction of the moisture is channeled by a strong nighttime low-level air stream through the Zambezi valley into the study region. Moisture from the Atlantic Ocean is negligible though.”
